Arlin R. Lester

Arlin R. Lester, 64, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Rush County Hospital. He was born July 10, 1950 in New Castle, a son of the late Arlin R. and Ellen Fern Lester.

A 1968 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Arlin worked for Frontier (formerly GTE) for over 42 years, where he was slated to retire December 12th. He was a member of the Communication Union. A coffee connoisseur, Arlin enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends, and enjoyed frequenting every restaurant he could to try their coffee.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Sue Lester of Lake Charles, LA, a son, Joseph R. Lester of New Castle, and step-son, Travis Marsh of New Castle, whom he raised. Grandchildren, Maleah Lenee Lester, and Gavin Liam Marsh; his sister, Ruth Walker of New Castle, his former wife, Gloria Marie of Anderson; nieces and nephews including, Jimmy Walker, David Walker, Teresa Walker, Leah Kidd, and Sandy Kidd.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kara Ann Marsh, and a sister, Anna Kidd.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Carol Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the funeral home.
