Barbara Janelle Dynes

Barbara Janelle Dynes, 69, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 1, 2014 at IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis. She was born March 21, 1945 in Decatur, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles and Bernice (Habegger) Pyle.

Barbara was a 1963 graduate of Hartford Township High School in Adams County, Indiana. She retired from The Wooden Key Hallmark in New Castle, where she was store manager for over 15 years. Barbara was a member of Tri Kappa, P.E.O. and Henry County Extension Homemakers Association. She was active in assisting with Senior Night Club at New Castle High School for over 20 years. An avid bowler, she also enjoyed several card clubs and luncheons with her many friends.

Survivors include her husband: Sheldon L. Dynes of New Castle; son: Matthew D. (Karen) Dynes of Greenwood; two daughters: Michelle L. (Steve) Cobb of Greenwood and Jennifer G. (Trent) McCormick of Yorktown; six grandchildren: Preston, Leah & Trey Dynes, Arlie & Wil Cobb, all of Greenwood; Cael McCormick of Yorktown; one brother: Jon (Monica) Pyle of Tillamook, Oregon; nephews: Keith LaMar of California, Aaron Pyle and Zac Pyle, both of Tillamook, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bernice Pyle.

A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Community Foundation, Extension Homemakers Scholarships,700 South Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN 47362.
