Barbara Sue Mofield, 71, of Knightstown passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 27, 1947 to Phillip and Naomi (Butler) Jackson.
Barbara graduated from Knightstown High School in the class of 1965. She also graduated from Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky in 1969 and received her Master’s Degree from Ball State University in 1971. She taught at Eastern Hancock School for 32 years retiring in 2002. She was Executive Secretary for Indiana Federation Business and Professional Women’s Club. Barbara was a member of Knightstown INFBPW, Psi Iota Xi, Historic Knightstown Inc., American Legion Auxiliary, held several positions in Girl Scouts, and was Chairman on the Indiana Women’s Education Foundation.
Survivors include her father, Phil Jackson of Knightstown; daughters, Kara (Scott) Lukens of Knightstown; grandchildren, Leatris (Jon) Cline-Jordan and Jackson Lukens; siblings, Denise (Cliff) Stanley of Marion, Phillip Dewayne Jackson of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Naomi (Butler) Jackson.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Bishop Danny Tompkins and Tom Eversman officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 22 at the funeral home.
