Betty L Ralston

Betty L. (Everman) Ralston, 88, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Hubbard Hill Estates in Elkhart, IN. She was born November 23, 1926, in New Castle, IN, to Ollie and Goldie (Wise) Everman.

She graduated from New Castle High School in 1944 and worked for 20 years in the office of the Henry County R.E.M.C. Living in the Cadiz community for 60 years, she was a member of the Cadiz Christian Church since 1956 and of Middletown Order of Eastern Star (OES) #110 and was past Matron of Sulphur Springs OES #243. She loved watching NASCAR, the Indianapolis Colts, and Purdue and Indiana University basketball and football. Before moving to Elkhart, she enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Raintree Square Senior Apartments in New Castle.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Lee) Evers of Elkhart and Jan Marshall of Indianapolis, a stepson, Ron Ralston (Jean) of Greenfield, 5 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters-in-law: Wilma Everman of New Castle; Doris Hughes of Anderson; and Sue Wiggins of Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Alonzo Ralston, Jr., a brother, Don “Fuzz” Everman, a stepson, Steve Ralston, a sister-in-law, Frances Anderson, and a brother-in-law, Everett Ralston.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Ambulance Service, 1515 "I" Ave., New Castle, IN 47362.
