Beverly Jean Woods

Beverly Jean (Merrill) Woods, 92, formerly of New Castle, IN passed away on May 2nd at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, IN. She was born on May 24, 1924 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late David and Edith Merrill. She married Taylor Clark Woods on February 6, 1946 and they moved to New Castle in 1963.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor; son, David; and sister, Ione. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Julie Woods Leonard (Lloyd) and Son, Robbie Woods (Linda); daughter-in-law Nancy Woods; niece Judy Martin; grandchildren Lisa Euwer, Kim Woods Hamilton, Chris Sullivan, Kim Toth, Todd Ashman, John Meek, Jodi Gaydusek, Grier Leonard, Amy Meek Littiken, Wendi Gore, David Meek, Chris Woods, and Sara Russell; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Beverly was a loving, devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a member of the Saint James Episcopal Church in New Castle, and loved her involvement in a local craft club and making Faberge eggs.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service located at 3406 S. Memorial Drive in New Castle with calling hours from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Father Whitney Smith will officiate.
