Bonnie Lou Thompson, 66, of New Castle, succumbed on Thursday, April 3, 2014, after a long fight with deadly pancreatic cancer.
She was born Feb. 8, 1948, in Monticello, Ky., to Raymond and Fern Tuggle.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 26 years, Finley "Tom" Thompson; two daughters, Kimberly (Daryl) Kazee of Kentucky and Jennifer (John) Heslop of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kristopher Baldridge of Georgia, Kory Baldridge of Kentucky, Mason Thompson, Josh Heslop, Jessie Heslop, Garrett Kazee of Kentucky and Tyler Kazee of Texas; brothers Dave (Wanda) Tuggle of New Castle and Rex (Mabel) Tuggle of Lexington, Ky.; sisters, Barb Murphy of Texas, Carolyn Purdue of Angola, Ind., Mary Anne Nunley of Tulsa; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving son, Wiley Kevin Smith; parents Raymond and Fern Tuggle of New Castle; brother, Loyd Ray Tuggle; and infant sister, Brenda.
Viewing will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Eastern Star services following. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Charles Dugger and Tony Piper officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn addition.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to benefit pancreatic cancer research.
