Brenda Kay Laurie

Brenda Kay (Keller) Laurie, 54, of New Castle passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 following a battle with cancer. She was the youngest of nine children born May 11, 1961 in Henry County, a daughter of the late David Oren and Helen Louise (Hess) Keller.

A 1980 Tri High School graduate, she had worked at Visteon in Connersville for 18 years. She was presently employed in housekeeping at Raintree Square. Brenda loved the outdoors, garage sales and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. Brenda was very creative and talented, and was always the first person to lend a helping hand. She loved spending time with her children and grandson, Jaxson. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Chester Laurie Jr. of New Castle; two daughters Jennifer Laurie and Crystal Laurie, both of New Castle; grandson, Jaxson Case of New Castle; siblings Everett L. (Sarah) Keller of New Castle, Thomas Keller of Washington, Janice Elaine Jones of New Lisbon, Barbara Ann (Robert) Boyd of New Lisbon, David Allen Keller of Dublin, Norma Jean (Wes) Smith of Letts, IN and Rodney Dale (Elaine) Keller of Dayton, OH; several nieces, nephews & cousins; and father-in-law, Chester Laurie, Sr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Robert "Bobby" Keller and mother-in-law, Freda Laurie.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in New Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences and memories of Brenda may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
