Cara Rosella West

Cara Rosella West, 82, of New Castle passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Henry Community Hospital. She was born July 2, 1935 in Shirley to the late Herman and Emma (Brooks) Morris.

She was employed by the New Castle State Hospital and Richmond State Hospital where she retired following 30 years of service. Cara loved her job at the State Hospital and her co-workers. Her children and grandchildren were her life and she enjoyed sitting on her front porch with her best friend Judy. Cara also enjoyed traveling and was an avid Blake Shelton fan.

She is survived by her children, Patty (Ray) Blankenship of New Castle, David (Vicki) West of New Castle, Carolyn Everetts of Chatham, NY, Linda (Randy) Williams of New Castle, Bobby (Rita) West of New Castle and Thomas (Shonda) West of New Castle; 14 grandchildren, Jessie McGillem, Joshua West, Jeffrey Blankenship, Callie (Chad) Baldwin, Justa West, Emily (Josh) Hedges, Kristi (Brett) Williams, Jennifer (Chet) Everetts, Matthew (Jessica) Everetts, Mallory Smith, Austin Smith, Mikayla West, Kassidy West and Joslynn West; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Thompson of Waverly, OH and Betty Baugh of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; best friend Shirley Lampe and many many other good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, David Harold West Sr.; sister, Pat Bell; brothers, Joe Morris and Bobby Morris; son-in-law, Chester Everetts and best friend Judy Riley.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services with Rev. Bill Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
