Carolyn F. Lye

Carolyn F. Lye, 87, of New Castle passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at her residence. She was born January 4, 1930 in Middletown, Indiana to the late Wilbur Leland Holaday and Margaret (Robbins) Holaday-Porter.

Carolyn retired from the New Castle State Hospital. She was family oriented and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two children, Larry G. (Phyllis) Lye, Mary M. (Tony) Nicholson both of New Castle; grandchildren, Heather (Carey) Lewis of Lafayette, James L. (Michelle) Sliger of Lafayette, Brittany Nicholson of West Lafayette, Colton Nicholson (girlfriend, Ryan Blankenship) of New Castle, Amber Thompson of Bluffton, Kayla Nicholson of New Castle, Jacqlyn Nicholson of Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Shelby, Cody, Keigan, Bentley, Jedidyah, Aliyah; siblings, Harry G. (Earlene) Holaday, Lynn E. (Gwenda) Holaday, Richard (Jane) Holaday all of Boone, North Carolina, Jennifer Porter Denney of Glendale, Arizona; son-in-law, Michael D. Thompson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Lye; children, Sheila A. Lye, Deborah Thompson; siblings, Mary Griffis and Wilbur Holaday.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
