Charlie Frank Catron, 85, of Madison, formerly of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Hickory Creek of Madison. He was born March 29, 1929 in Monticello, KY a son of Charlie and Hattie (Coyle) Catron.
Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Trainor Spring Factory for 29 years and for the City of New Castle for 11 years. He was a member of the Spiceland Nazarene Church and attended Whittier Lane Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Tamara (David) Davenport of Hanover, IN; five grandchildren, Alicia (Kris) Dirmyer, Randy (Alicia) Catron, Charlie (Jessica) Catron, Melinda Catron, David Gabriel (Crystal) Davenport; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Kenneth) Frost of Monticello, KY; a brother, Larry (Helen) Catron of Monticello, KY; daughter in law, Jean Catron of Goshen, IN; sister in law, Dolly Catron of Goshen, IN and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Catron in 2011; a son, Trebby Catron in March of 2014; a sister, Lillian Poynter and five brothers, Herman, Bobby, James, Wendall and Willard Catron.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Gene Bennett and Frank Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by the local VFW and American Legion.
