Danny Earl Landis, 78, of Indianapolis passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness with cancer. He was born October 7, 1936 in Dugger, IN to the late Samuel and Ethel Cloe (Pigg) Landis.
He retired from Western Electric in 1990. For many years, Dan was a high school basketball and football official. Dan enjoyed golfing and fishing, but mostly his family, grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Dan will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 59 years, Shirley and their children, Mark (Becky) Landis, Shauna Waters, Michael (Margie) Landis. Dan will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Anna (Billie) Bowling, Max, Sara, and Morgan Landis; his great granddaughter, Emma Bowling; a brother, Sam (Debbie) Landis; sisters, Geneva Henderson and Kay (Jerry) Hostetler.
In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by a brother, Brad Landis.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be directed to Cure SMA, 925 Busse Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 or envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
