Darleen A. Flynn, age 72, of Spiceland, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born April 2, 1941 in Rahway, New Jersey to the late James H. and Edith (Ebbs) Weakland.
She moved to New Castle in 1962 and had been employed at First National Bank and Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union. She had also been a waitress in various restaurants and was a member of the Spiceland Methodist Church. She bowled in the Sundowners League at Rose Bowl, loved playing Bingo, and was a member of VFW.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, James C. Flynn; two daughters, Deborah Rosenburger of Brookville, IN and Terry (Dave) Warwick of Spiceland; a son, Edward T. Haymaker of Shirley; grandchildren, Jason Clements, Joshua Clements, Elizabeth Robertson, Coleson Robertson, D.J. Warwick and Matthew Warwick; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Earl Weakland of Dushore, PA; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Flynn and Gregory Flynn; a daughter, Sherry Flynn; brothers, James and Richard Weakland.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday March 31, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Carol Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
