David R. Peck, 60, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at his residence. He was born August 1, 1954 in Rush County a son of the late Harold R. Peck and Nova (Gabbard) Sorrell of Knightstown.
David graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1973 where he played football. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and spent numerous hours working on the Veteran’s Memorial in Knightstown. David was a loving son, father and family man who was always there for his family. He enjoyed watching his son, Jared, play basketball.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Jared Peck of Knightstown; a daughter, Madalyn Peck of Vincennes; grandson, Aiden Peck of Vincennes; siblings, Denise Williams of Greenfield, Carrie (Dwight) Baxter of Indianapolis, James (Christena) Craig of Knightstown; stepmother, Norma Peck of Indianapolis; an uncle, Kenneth Gabbard of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Crump; maternal grandparents, Owen and Opal (Pitts) Gabbard.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Friday, January 2, 2015 at Glen Cove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Knightstown American Legion, 224 E. Main St. Knightstown, IN 46148. Condolences and memories of David may be shared at
