Delta Ruth Hall, 94, of New Castle and formerly of Spiceland, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at Raintree Square. She was born February 14, 1924 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Willard and Maggie Mae (Clark) Harding.
Ruth was a member of the Spiceland Church of the Nazarene and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She had been a Red Cross volunteer at Henry County Memorial Hospital, and had also worked with the Compassionate Ministry and Henry County Pregnancy Care Center. Ruth wintered in Florida for many years at the Holiness Campground near Lakeland, Fl. She enjoyed crocheting and various crafts including glassworks and gift making for her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her four sons, James Michael Hall of Palm Harbor, FL, Ronald Lee (Brenda) Hall of Greenfield, Steven Alan (Martha) Hall of Spiceland, and Rick Dean (Shirley) Hall of Lewisville; eight grandchildren, Julie (Cheryl) Hall of Orlando, FL, Stacey Spears of Leesburg, FL, Jeremy (Lisa) Hall of New Castle, Carrie Hall of Greenfield, Rachael (Aaron) Green of Lancaster, OH, Steven (Christen) Hall of Greenwood, Wendi (Troy) Caldwell of Markleville, and Jason (Crystal) Hall of Stafford, VA; fourteen great grandchildren, Noah, Kyle, Kara, Ellie, Brady, Zoe, Andi, Jack, Carson, Kierston, Ansley, Clara, Emma, and Rory; one great-great granddaughter, MaKayla; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hall in 1992; her second husband, Earnest Smith, and a sister, Margaret Baker; six brothers, Stanley, Nuke, Paul, Leland, Len, and Waldo Harding.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Spiceland Church of Nazarene with Rev. Rick Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to the Michael J.
