Dorothy J. Bledsoe, 86, of New Castle passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born May 19, 1932 in New Castle to the late Lloyd and Madge (Ratz) McMillan.
A longtime resident of New Castle, she had formerly worked at Meadow Gold Corp. as a bookkeeper. Dorothy was a member of Raintree Homemakers group and volunteered at Henry County Association for retarded citizens. She had attended Central Wesleyan Church in New Castle. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, knitting, working in her flower garden, fishing and motorcycle riding.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill Bledsoe; daughter, Cathy (Dennis) Dobbs of New Castle; son, Bob (Elyse) Bledsoe of New Port Richey, FL; grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Dobbs of New Castle; Cory, Lauren and Jeremy Bledsoe of FL; sister, Barbara (Lonnie) Messick of Greenwood; nephew, Greg (Tamara) Bledsoe of Juneau, AL; nieces, Elysha Bledsoe and Cindy Koenig; brother-in-law, Jack (Elaine) Bledsoe of Dayton, OH.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Mike and John Bledsoe, sister-in-law, Carol Jones and brother-in-law, John Jones.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating.
