Dorothy J. Denison, 95, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Legacy of Springhurst in Greenfield. She was born January 3, 1920, in Marion, OH, the daughter of Harley and Martha (Williams) Burggraf.

Dorothy graduated from high school in Ohio and was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Mary Rutane Hospital in Findlay, Ohio, for a few years, but worked in a physician’s office in Maumee, Ohio, most of her nursing career. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Avon book club, and was an accomplished church organist for many years. A very quiet and loving person, she also enjoyed knitting, quilting, and braiding rugs.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Michael Albert Denison of Boulder, CO, and his daughter, Nadia Sirisa Denison of Joplin, MO; Jean (John) Butler of Knightstown, and their children, John Rhett (Angie) Butler of Florisant, MO, Joel Lawton (Melissa) Butler of Indianapolis, and Jeffrey Alan (Steve Klein) Butler of Indianapolis; Kathryn Follis of Knightstown, and her children Bradley Edward (Lori) Schudel of Sturgis, MI, and Michael Christian (Michelle) Schudel of Montpelier, OH; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also, a brother, Nelty Everal Burggraf of Spring Hill, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, and her husband of 52 years, Frank A. Denison.

Private graveside services will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Condolences and memories of Dorothy may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
