Eric T. Purnell

Eric T. Purnell, 37, of Straughn, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 14, 2015 following a car accident. He was born July 2, 1977 in New Castle a son of Don Frankie and Kathy Jo (Cross) Purnell.

Eric loved his life partner, Mandy, and their daughter Maddox, more than anything. He was a 1996 graduate of Chrysler High School and received an Associates Degree in Health Management from Ivy Tech in 2011. Presently, he was employed at INTAT in Rushville. Eric enjoyed riding his motorcycle, telling stories and had an opinion on everything. He was an avid sports fan, especially football. He was a wonderful daddy and enjoyed thoroughly researching on the internet.

Eric is survived by his life partner, Mandy Garner of Straughn; daughter, Maddox Purnell of Straughn; parents, Don and Kathy Purnell of New Castle; one brother, Ryan (Lindsey) Purnell of Spiceland; one nephew, Clay Purnell of New Castle; paternal grandmother, Phyllis Hannon of New Castle; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John and Ethel Cross; paternal grandfather, William Hannon.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Rick Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3-7 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be conducted by the Lewisville Masonic Lodge at 7:00 PM.
