George Clarence Clymer, age 81, of Mt. Summit, passed away, Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1933 in Sawyer, Michigan to the late Harold and Bertha (Price) Clymer.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War. He was instrumental in building several skyscrapers in the downtown Indianapolis area, where he operated heavy equipment and was employed by several construction companies including, Huber, Hunt, Nichols, Thompson and O’Riley.
Survivors include his daughter, Angelia (Matt) Jennings of Mt. Summit; step children, Jackie Maxwell of Indianapolis, Melinda Sumiloft of West VA, and Julie Watson of Indianapolis; eleven grandchildren, Tonya, Kristin, and Peter Sumiloft, Brittney and Gary Maxwell, Nathan Bowen, Brooklyn, Bryanna and Noah Graat; step grandchildren, Bethany Hines and Braydon Sparks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Carol Clymer; brother, Fred Clymer; sister, Louise Clymer.
Services will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Matt Purdue officiating. Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. until time of service.
