George W. Mowbray Sr., 84, of Mooreland passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie following a brief illness. He was born July 12, 1933 in Denton, Maryland to the late John W. and Pauline (Bradley) Mowbray.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. George worked for Luellen Farms for over 44 years and was a handyman that could fix anything. He was an active member of Turning Point Life Center.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Mowbray, 8 children, numerous grandchildren, 6 siblings and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Mowbray and 6 siblings.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Turning Point Life Center with Pastor Matt Perdue officiating. Military rites will be conducted by contingents from the American Legion and the US Navy. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery.
