James R. McKinsey

March 19, 1925 — October 3, 2014

James “Jim” R. McKinsey, 89, of New Castle, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at The Addison Place. He was born March 19, 1925 in Kennard a son of Ernest and Grace (Personett) McKinsey.

Jim retired from New Castle School Corporation as a maintenance worker. He was a Seaman 1st Class serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943-1946. Jim was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing and baseball.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary Eloise Foster of FL and Rosalind (Owen) Brown of Mooreland; a step-son, Larry (Joan) Gard of TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth McKinsey in 1995; sisters, Margaret Frost and Crystal McKinsey; a brother, John McKinsey.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 AM until time of service. Condolences and memories of Jim may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
