Jason “Shorty” Allan Sweigart (30) and Stacy Ann (Penrose) Sweigart (32) entered eternal life together on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Jason was born to parents Dale and Cindy Sweigart on September 2, 1980. Stacy was born to parents Harry and Carol Penrose on July 23, 1978. Jason and Stacy were both graduates of New Castle Chrysler High School. Stacy graduated from the Indiana University East Nursing Program. Jason was employed with Metaldyne (formerly Chrysler). Stacy was employed with New Castle Community School Corporation as a school nurse. They leave behind a son, Trenton Allan (7). They are survived by several family members and friends.
Jason, survived by parents Dale and Cindy Sweigart of New Castle, brother Kevin (and wife Marilyn) Sweigart of Noblesville (sons Alex, Cesar, Jakob, and Dominik). grandmothers Phyllis Sweigart of New Castle and Anna Childs of Anderson, step-grandmother Barbara Sweigart of Spiceland, Uncles John (and wife) Lucy Sweigart of Atlanta, IN, David (and wife Jane) Childs of Florida, Aunts Rhonda Shaffer (and companion Jr. West) of New Castle, Cathy (and husband Harold) Johnson of Springport, cousin and best friend Jeremy Lovell (and companion Ashli Gard and sons Dakota and Maddox) of New Castle, and several other cousins and friends.
Stacy, survived by parents Harry and Carol Penrose of New Castle, brothers Mike (and wife Joy) Penrose of Indianapolis, and Steve (and fiancé Gressa Riggs) Penrose of New Castle, nieces Lauren Penrose of New Castle, Emma Penrose of Indianapolis, and step-niece Bailey Butcher of New Castle, nephew Jacob Penrose of Indianapolis and step-nephew Noah Riggs of New Castle, grandmother Josephine Penrose of Houston, Pa, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Pittsburgh area as well as several friends in New Castle.
Jason and Stacy touched the lives of everyone they encountered and will forever be remembered by those that loved them and knew them best as good parents, family members and friends. They lived for their son Trenton and will always be looking down on him. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at New Covenant Worship Center at 815 W. Western Rd. in New Castle with visitation from 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. and memorial services to follow at 12:00 P.M. with Reverend Eric Haler officiating. Burial will follow South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition in New Castle. The family requests that casual attire be worn. In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been established for their son Trenton at Ameriana Bank at 2118 Bundy Avenue, New Castle, 47362, phone number 765-529-2230. However, anyone wishing to donate may do so at any Ameriana Bank branch in Indiana or envelopes will be available at the church.
