Joan Leaser Vogel

Joan Leaser Vogel, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born December 3, 1931 in New Burlington, Ohio to the late Byron and Hattie (Inwood) Leaser.
After graduation from Knightstown High School, she married Roy "Jim" Vogel. Joan spent her life as a loving mother and wife. She adored her family, especially her four grandsons. Joan was a faithful member of Foursquare Gospel Church for many years.
She is survived by a son, J.B. Vogel (wife, Mindy) of Mays; a daughter, Janell Wardlow (husband, David) of New Castle; 4 grandsons, Greg Vogel of Greenfield; Doug Vogel of Rushville; Joel Wardlow and Alex Wardlow both of New Castle; sisters, Nancy White (husband, Marvin) of Bradenton, Florida and Gail Lindsay (husband, Larry) of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Roy D. “Jim” Vogel; a son, Gregory Brent Vogel in 1977.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jim Becker officiating. Friends may call from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Hickory, 26202 W. Nippersink Rd.
