Joyce F. Hooker, 76, of Knightstown, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born January 13, 1938 in Clay County, KY a daughter of Henry and Georgia (Bowling) Lipps.
Joyce farmed with her husband, Earl, for 50 years in Henry County. She had worked for Gregor’s Bakery in Knightstown and sold Mary Kay cosmetics. She was a 44 year member of Greenfield Church of God, enjoyed quilting and was a Peyton Manning fan. Joyce loved her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons: Douglas Hooker (fiancé, Debi Burton) of Knightstown, Wesley (Debbie) Hooker of Knightstown, Russell (Teri) Hooker of Greenfield; grandchildren: Jonathon (Jessi) Hooker, Stephanie Hooker, Lyndsey (Sean) Bannon, Daniel (Katie) Hooker, Robyn (Ryan) Shepherd, Lauren Hooker; six great grandchildren: Max, Addison, Gavin, Garrin, Rowan and Maylin; siblings: Bobby Lipps, Ann Sester, Billie Rowe, Tess Lipps, Clara King, Patty Cooper, Pamela Hounchell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Hooker; children: Randy, Linda and Terry; brother: Pherman Lipps.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Ira Scott and Reverend James Hibbard officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Monday.
