June Back, 86, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Golden Living Center Brandywine in Greenfield. She was born April 11, 1929 in Olive Hill, Kentucky a daughter of Harlie and Dovie (Littleton) Owens.
June retired from RCA following 24 years of service. She was a hard worker and mother of three sons. She was a long time member of Knightstown Church of God and enjoyed needle work, crocheting and working with flowers. June loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and especially enjoyed cooking family dinners on Sunday.
June is survived by three sons: Stanley (Judy) Back of Shirley, Stirl (Gerri) Back of Knightstown and Billy (Gretchen) Back of Knightstown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Laveda “Dude” Helderbrand of Carthage; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haskel Back.
Services will be at 1 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Friends may call from 11 AM until time of service. Memorial contibutions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 50 E 91st St. Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
