Katherine "Katie" Marie Salvucci

Katherine “Katie” Marie Salvucci, 32, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at her residence. She was born December 6, 1983 in Newport Beach, California to John C. and Debbie (Florea) Salvucci.

Katie was a very outgoing and friendly person who had a heart of gold. She’d do anything for anyone who was in need. Katie loved volunteering for various organizations and most recently for the Attic Window. She also loved flower gardening, Zumba, yard sales, Starbucks, being on social media and was the worlds biggest fan of Wheel of Fortune. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Katie was a participant in the Special Olympics, where she competed in bocce ball, track and was also a pitcher for the New Castle Miracle League Giants.

Katie is survived by her parents, John Salvucci of California and Debbie of rural New Castle; brothers, Tony and Nick of California; grandmother, Catherine Florea of rural New Castle; Aunts, Kimberly (Steve) Shurley of Kansas, Rhonda (Jerry) Frost of New Castle, Brenda Florea of Greenfield; several cousins; her "second mother", Susie Mozeleski; best friend, Sarah Mozeleski both of California; and many other special friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Rolland Florea; aunt, Vickie Cleary; uncle, Bud Florea; and her loving dog, Ariel.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Bob Schon officiating. Burial will follow at Hicksite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Temple Baptist Church and New Castle Miracle League.
