Keith Allen Hoots

Keith Allen Hoots, 45, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was born in New Castle on January 31, 1969, a son of Harold and Carla (Guthrie) Hoots.

A 1987 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Keith also attended Vincennes University. He was in the Army Reserves, and had worked for several years at Grede Foundry and Metaldyne until it closed. He was presently employed at GEO Corrections and Detentions in New Castle as a corrections officer.

Keith had a passion for fishing. He attended fishing tournaments, fishing shows, and also enjoyed Mixed Martial Arts Fighting (MMA). He was also a lover of bluegrass music, attending bluegrass events often.

Keith is survived by his daughters, CoraLee and Kelsey Marie Hoots, both of New Castle; one brother, Ryan Douglas Hoots of Seoul, South Korea; his mother, Carla Hoots of New Castle; several aunts, uncles, cousins, his dog Russell, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hoots; maternal grandparents, Donald and Juanita Guthrie; and paternal grandparents, Herbert and Abigail Hoots.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
