Kenneth "Ken" Stockton

Kenneth “Ken” Stockton, 72, of Greenfield and formerly of New Castle passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Kindred Transitional Care in Greenfield. He was born May 11, 1945 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Joe Buck and Leva Alma (Norris) Stockton.

Ken grew up in a large family, with ten siblings, on a tobacco farm in Albany, KY. He worked at Ingersoll Steel for 19 years, then at the Richmond and Hagerstown license branch. He attended Willow Springs Church in Hagerstown and Sugar Grove Methodist Church, where he was the organist for many years. In 1978, he married Mary Maddy. Together, they worked on their farm raising many animals and grew a large garden. During the winter months, they lived in Florida and would help care for elders in assisted living facilities. Ken enjoyed being with his family, going to garage sales and flea markets, loved to laugh and host large Sunday dinners.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Mark) Stockton Borinsky of Pendleton, Mylon (Trina) Stockton of Manistique, MI, Lisa Kay Maddy (John) James of Spiceland, Lenny (Penny) Maddy of Hagerstown, Tracy (Wendy) Maddy of Fishers, Troy (Kimberly) Maddy of North Port, FL; grandchildren, Christopher and Jonathan Borinsky, Matthew (Stephanie McLeish) James, Adam James, Heath, Seth, Clint, Cody, Conner, Ethan, and Garrett Maddy; great grandchildren, Keaton and Maelynn James; siblings, Phyllis Pryor of Byrdstown, TN; Joe “Jodi” Stockton of Albany, KY; and former wife, Janet Laurie of Pendleton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Maddy Stockton, granddaughter, Bethany James, siblings, Becky Stockton Beaty, Ricky G. Stockton, Howard Stockton, Jeanette Stockton, Linda Butler, Freddie Stockton and Troy Howard Stockton.

Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Inurnment will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery at a later date. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
