Leona L Thrine

Leona L. Thrine, 96, of New Castle passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Addison Place in New Castle. She was born March 6, 1919 in Boone County a daughter of the late Charles and Kate (Bailey) Phillips.
Leona graduated from Lebanon High School and Indiana Comptometer School in 1937. She had been employed at Federal Farm Program at Purdue University and Kroger and Baking Company in Indianapolis. She retired from Witham Hospital in 1982 where she had worked as a seamstress. Leona was a member of Lebanon Christian Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie Bryant of Crown Point and a son, Chris (Julie) Thrine of New Castle; seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Thrine; a sister, Sylvia Gill; and four brothers, Jesse, Henry, Leland and Hubert Phillips.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, IN with services conducted by Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service.
