Lucy “Katherine” Reynolds Brown joined her family in Heaven on Sunday, April 19, 2015. She was born November 4, 1921 in Etowah, Tennessee to the late Roy and Lucy Reynolds.
She was a graduate of Mt. Summit High School in 1940. She married Carlton P. Brown in September of 1941. She was previously employed at the New Castle State Hospital. Her hobbies were quilting and canning vegetables from her garden. She was known to be a very good cook and had the gift of hospitality. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Etowah, Tennessee, but had attended the United Methodist Church in Losantville, Indiana in more recent years.
Survivors include her sons, Gerald (Sandra) Brown of The Villages, FL and Clifford (Sandy) Brown of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Michael (Machelle) Day, Tim (Saundra) Day, Carlton G. Brown, Sheldon (Kathleen) Brown, George (Dana) Brown, Sarah (Brad) Neel, David (Carolyn) Brown and Beverly (Jim) Kennedy Brown; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Brown; a daughter, Georgann Brown Day; a son, Harold G. Brown; grandsons, Cody Day, Jared Day and Kenneth Kennedy, as well as her twelve siblings.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Nathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery.
