Martha Ruth Miller

Martha Ruth Miller, 88 of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Heritage House. She was born April 29, 1928 in Rush County to the late Rev. Carroll N. and Florence (Morris) Miller.

Martha owned Park Restaurant in Rushville for 8 years. She was a member of Church of God in Rushville for many years, also a lifetime member of the Rushville Eagles. Martha loved raising Maltese puppies, crocheting, baking and cooking, shopping, and playing the organ and piano.

She is survived by her children, Ralph A. (Michelle) Kanouse, Dwight K. Kanouse, Paula F. (Doyle) Chandler, Tammy R. Vawter (Mark Clements), Yolanda M. (Scott) Teague; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; four sisters; five brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Gene M. Kanouse and siblings, Marilyn Addison and Keith Miller.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Martha’s brother, Rev. Sam Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
