Mary F. Pitts

Mary F. Pitts, 83, of Carthage, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at her residence. She was born December 8 1932 in Fleming County, Kentucky the daughter of Hiram and Della (Wyatt) Jones.

Mary had been employed at Indiana Knitwear in Greenfield and then was custodian for Charles A. Beard School at the Carthage school for many years. She was a member of Carthage Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Pitts of LaPorte, Pamela (John) Dalton of Greensboro; two sons, Clinton (Jeannette) Pitts of New Castle and Randall Pitts of Carthage; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; brothers, “Wink” (Lillian) Jones, Billy Jones, Delmor (Mary) Jones, and Jim Jones; a sister, Vonda Gross; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Pitts; brother, Homer and Forrest Jones; sister, Arlene Brown.

Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Carthage Community Church. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at the church with Pastor Charles Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
