Mary L. (Haynes) Walden, 81, of Parkersburg, West Virginia passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017. She was born July 19, 1935 in Dandridge, Tennessee to the late James W. Haynes and Anne Ruth (Goforth) Cleek.
Mary married Jerry W. Walden of New Castle, Indiana on September 16, 1961. They celebrated over 48 years of marriage. Mary graduated from New Castle High School. After high school, she attended business college in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was an accomplished bookkeeper, medical billing specialist, and accomplished writer. She had many of her short stories published in magazines and newspapers.
In 1963, Mary and her husband accepted the calling into the ministry. They served faithfully for over 36 years during that time.
Mary lived in Northumberland, Pennsylvania for over 36 years. She attended Calvary Tabernacle Church in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. After Jerry retired, she attended Danville Apostolic Church in Danville, Pennsylvania as a faithful Saint.
Two years ago, Mary moved to Parkersburg, West Virginia to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She attended church at the Pentecostals of Parkersburg.
Her enjoyment in life was being around her family: her daughter and son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law, and her four grandchildren and fur grand babies Rango, Duke, Jonny Cash, Loretto Lynn.
She is survived by her daughter, Jerra (husband, Italo) DiPrisco of Parkersburg, West Virginia; one son, Jonathan (wife, CrisTee) Walden of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Carl and Taylor Carl, Alexander DiPrisco and Jerry W. Walden II; four siblings, Shelby Hagerman, James "Jack" (wife, Linda) Haynes, Diane Stone, Vicki (husband, Larry) Howell, Linda (husband, John) McGuire; sister in law, Ruth (Bud) Ayres, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Jerry Walden.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Reverends Larry Neal, Donald Zeek, and David Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
