Dr. Max E. Copeland, 92, formerly of Spiceland passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Indianapolis. He was born on September 22, 1924 to the late Carroll and Gladys Copeland of Spiceland, Indiana. After serving in the Medical Corps in World War II, Max attended Indiana University School of Dentistry (1951) and practiced dentistry in Winchester, IN. After retiring from dentistry, Max and his wife, Janet, spent many winters in the Fort Myers/Sanibel Island area.
He is survived by his wife Janet of 71 years, two daughters, Judy (Rick) Young of Greenwood, and Mary (David) Alber of Indianapolis; brother, Paul Copeland of New Castle; four grandsons, two granddaughters and fifteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four brothers, Dale, Bill, Jim, and Richard Copeland and two sisters, Carolyn Addison and Jonell Green.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 South Memorial Dr., New Castle, IN, with David Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
