Max Lyndon James, 69, of Mooreland, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at his home following an extended illness. He was born February 3, 1945 in Henry County, IN to Charles Lyndon and Charline Louise (Oxley) James.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight,” Proverbs 3: 5 & 6. “To God be the Glory, great things He has done”.

Prior to their travels, Max was an active dairy farmer, 4-H leader, school bus driver and pastor of Morningside Evangelical Christian Church. Max was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher, lay leader and in various other ministries. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to Purdue University.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Judy (Johnson) James; three children: Steven James of Scottsburg, Kimberly (Mike) Dickerson of New Castle, and Jennifer (Stephen) Swim of Mt. Summit; four grandchildren: Joshua (Kate) and Jonathan James, Karen and Matthew Dickerson; three step-grandchildren: Kindsey (Austin) Howell, MaKaelin and Karlee Swim; two step-great grandchildren: Ian and Felecity Howell; his mother: Charline James of Mooreland; a sister: Phyllis (John) Battice of Mooreland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Elizabeth, Nathanel, and Zachary Dickerson.
