Maxine Denney, 85, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She was born January 24, 1932 in Alpha, Kentucky to the late Clay and Florence (Hicks) Marcum.
Maxine Virginia Hickie (Marcum) Denney was a 60 year active member of Foursquare Gospel Church; where she was involved with the prayer chain and provided food for bereavement dinners. She enjoyed gardening and was well known for her country style cooking. Her main priorities were instilling Biblical values in her family. Maxine had a great appreciation for nature, flowers, vegetable gardening and canning. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and was always ready to go anywhere.
She is survived by her children: Steve (wife: April) Denney, Debra (husband: George) Ferrell, Ronnie (wife: Kim) Denney, Douglas Denney; grandchildren: Christopher, Kimberley, Katie, Tobi, Ryan, Courtney, Megan (husband: Jon), Kali (husband: David), Hillary and Alison; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Robert E. Denney; children: Gary Wayne and Connie Lynn; two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Foursquare Gospel Church with Pastor Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 1st at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday (at the church).
