Maxine E. Thomas, 80, of New Castle passed away Thursday, November 02, 2017 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born April 9, 1937 in Monett, MO to the late Allen and Ida Long.
A homemaker, she enjoyed making wood crafts. She loved cooking and baking. Maxine had a green thumb with flowers and plants all over the house. She always put everyone else first and loved spending time with her grandchildren and attended all their activities and events.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Pat Thomas, son, Larry (Tracy) Thomas of New Castle, granddaughter, Madison (Evan) Carender of Muncie, grandson, Thatcher (Katie) Thomas of Seminal, FL, two brothers, Paul (Lina) Long of Fayetteville, AR and Perry (Leona) Long of Rogers, AR, and her fur baby Otis.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. You may express condolences or share a memory of Maxine at www.hinsey-brown.com .
