Michael “Mick” Murray, age 70, of Mooreland, passed away unexpectedly surround by his family Monday, February, 9, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born April 5, 1944 in Henry County, Indiana to the late John Murray and Garnet (Harris) Noble.
He was a 1962 graduate of Mooreland High School and retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1991 follow 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, farming, tractors and visiting with old classmates and co-workers.
Survivors include his wife of 51 ½ years, Karen Murray of Mooreland; children, Kathy Hardwick (Clay Watkins) of New Castle, Michael Shane (Rebecca) Murray of Cheyenne, WY, Carol (Gary “Bogie”) Batson of Lewisville, IN; two special granddaughters, Cheyenne (Seth) Simpkins of Oceanside, CA and Katherine Murray of Cheyenne, WY; a special grandson, Reece Hale of Lewisville; two nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Sterl Huber, Sr.; son-in-law, Tom D. Hale and his special dog, Tiny.
Services will be at 2:00 pm. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Chuck Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery.
