Norma June Weintraut

Norma June Weintraut, 87, of Hagerstown and formerly of New Castle passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her residence. She was born June 19, 1928 in Adams County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Virgil R. Bowman and Carmen (Dunn) Crandall.

A homemaker, Norma was a 1946 graduate of New Castle High School. She attended St. Anne Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Norma loved spending time with her family and playing cards.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Edward Weintraut whom she married October 29, 1949; three children, Betsy (Charles “Ed”) Davis of Hagerstown, Tony Weintraut and Timothy Weintraut, both of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Laura (Tyler) Oyer, Ashton (Bobby) Belt, Tabitha Dean, Brandy Weintraut, Taylor Jordan, Aspen Weintraut; two great grandchildren, Addilyn Anne Belt and Davis Stephen Oyer; one brother, Earl Wayne (Norma) Crandall of Mooresville; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings; Nancy Shaffer, Neva Sullivan, Dorotha Chapman, Ruby Anderson and Glen Crandall.

Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church in New Castle with Father Joe Rautenberg officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne Cemetery.
