Ronald Lee Butler

Ronald Lee Butler, 74, born on March 11, 1944 in New Castle, Indiana, to Flora Butler, passed away on July 3, 2018 in Florida.

Ron (Ronnie), graduated in 1963 from New Castle Chrysler High School. Ron was a DECA member and worked for Dana Corporation in New Castle for 27 years.

He was a great cook, hunter, fisherman and loved joining his boys in going to the race track and playing card games. Ron was the past administrator, president, and secretary of the Kokomo Moose Lodge #179 as well as the Past administrator of the Tipton Moose #1590 and life member. He was also a member of the Ray Gibbens Moose Legion #77.

Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Liz Butler of Florida, his children, Roger (Kathy) Butler, (Indiana), Veronica (Adam) Pomeranz (Georgia), Sheryl Neal, (Indiana), and Laici (Kip) Andrews (Florida), his loving sister, Marilyn (Mike) McKinney (Indiana), his grandchildren, Hunter (Ashley) and Clay Butler, Ross (Ashley) and Alex Kilgore, Lily and Evan Pomeranz, Breezy Andrews and several nieces and nephews - including his "favorite nephew" Mark Allen Carty (Watermelon), great-grandchildren, Naomi, and Abel Kilgore and one on the way.

In addition to his mother, Flora Butler, Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Linda Butler, brothers, Bill Logan, Harold Butler, Johnny Dale, and sister, Norma Jones, nephews, Marty Atkinson and Chris Jones, and maternal grandparents, Elmer and Florence New and his beloved dog, "Little George".

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with his grandson, Ross Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Garden. Friends will be received from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, July 6 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mooseheart Child City & School, 155 S International Drive Mooseheart, IL 60539.
