Rosemary Jessup, 73, of Spiceland passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born June 6, 1941 in Hazelton, Indiana, a daughter of the late Charles Loren and Roselyn (Dunn) Miller.
She was a 1959 graduate of Arlington High School in Rush County and a graduate of Ball State University, where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education. Rosemary was a retired elementary teacher from South Henry Schools following 25 years of service. She had been active in the local chapter of the ISTA, the ABWA and SPATS (Spiceland Preservation & Tourism Society). Rosemary was an active member of Spiceland Friends Meeting. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, Indianapolis Colts football and attending basketball games at Tri High and Shenandoah Schools.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Max Jessup; one son, David (Kat) Jessup of Brownsburg; one granddaughter, Faye Jessup of Brownsburg; siblings, Sam (Dorothy) Miller of New Castle, Nila Miller-Cronk of Indianapolis and Jeff (Julia) Miller of Cadiz; several nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Miller.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at Spiceland Friends Meeting with David Brock and Cathy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service and one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to SPATS, P.O.
