Sammy Harold Laurie Sr. went to meet the Lord on December 25, 2017. He died suddenly and unexpectedly on Christmas day, after celebrating Christmas with his friends and family. Sammy was born April 5, 1943 to Forest and Lena Laurie.
He graduated from New Castle High School in 1961, where he lettered in 2 sports, cross country and wrestling. He served in the United States Army and retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service. Sammy was an accomplished bowler and Trojan fan. Sammy Harold Laurie Sr. will be missed by both family and friends.
He left behind a widow, Thelma Laurie, three children, Kimberly Kay, Sammy Harold Jr. and Matthew John, a granddaughter, Mackenzie Jean, brothers, Frankie and Dale and their families, his two sisters, Linda and Annie and their families, several in-laws in which he had a rich loving relationship such as Brenda Greg, the Ward family and the Gibson family.
Sammy was preceded in death by his parents.
We all Love You Boo Dog and will miss you.
At Sammy’s request, there will be no public services. A private family gathering will take place at Sammy’s home at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Sammy at www.hinsey-brown.com .
