Sheila Jenkins

Sheila Jenkins, age 63, of Carthage, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born November 27, 1952 in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Armstrong) Vorhies.
Sheila was a 1970 graduate of Secina Memorial High School in Indianapolis. She had been employed as Police dispatcher at Knightstown Police Department for over 25 years. She was a member of the Knightstown American Legion and was also an avid collector of Boyds Bears.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Wayne Jenkins of Carthage, whom she married April 22, 1977; two grandchildren, Connor and Cayla Judd of Knightstown; two brothers, Paul Vorhies Jr. of Greenwood, and Ralph (Linda) Vorhies of Rutledge, TN; three step-children, Kim Rowe, DeWayne Jenkins and Shawn Jenkins, all of Arkansas; also, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Jenkins, and a brother, Thomas Vorhies.
Visitation will be from10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Connor and Cayla Judd Educational Fund c/o Citizens State Bank, 475 N. McCullum, Knightstown, IN 46148.
