Stanley E. Norrick

Stanley E. Norrick, 97, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Henry County Hospital in New Castle. He was born July 22, 1919, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Stanley A. and Ethel (Hale) Norrick. He had lived in New Castle since age 6.

He retired from Dana Corporation in 1980 following over 43 years of employment as a toolmaker. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1942-1946. A member and former deacon of the First Christian Church in New Castle, Stanley was also a member of the New Castle Kiwanis and American Legion. He and Marjorie were longtime volunteers for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie H. Norrick of New Castle; son, Daniel A. (Gerry) Norrick of New Brighton, MN; grandchildren, Annie Norrick of St. Charles, IL, and Martha Norrick of Brooklyn, NY; four step children, Les (Jan) Wantz of Columbus, IN, Ann King of Indianapolis, Elaine Cunningham of Greenfield, and Dr. Susan Kupisch of Nashville, TN; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Lea (Field) Norrick; two brothers, Edwin and Robert Norrick; four sisters, Frances Pate, Hilda Juday, Dorothy Cronk, and Phyllis Bouslog.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Richie Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion, VFW, and a contingent from the US Air Force.
