Thomas Taylor, age 75, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1941 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Joseph Wayne and Edna Mae (Faine) Taylor.
He retired from Delco Remy following 28 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and had attended Primitive Baptist Church in Hagerstown. Thomas enjoyed playing softball, umpiring, pitching horse shoes, was an avid bowler and loved fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He served in the United States Army for 3 years.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Virginia Taylor of Knightstown; children, Rick (Eileen) Taylor, Tonya (Glenn) Snyder, Herbert (Vickie) Taylor, and Jenny Mae (Jeff) Adams; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, Clark Taylor, Mike (Jane) Taylor and Kneale (Debbie) Taylor; sisters, Nancy (Walter) Thompson, Dot (Scott) Raines, Joett (Rusty) McQuinn and Connie (Carl) Pollitt; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Patricia Belcher, Louise Jenkins and an infant sister, Martha Taylor; father and mother-in-law, Herbert Gillam and Velma Tryon.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Randy Gross officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
