Virginia "Maxine" Harlow

March 16, 1929 — March 29, 2018

Virginia “Maxine” Harlow, 89, of Indianapolis and formerly of New Castle passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Wildwood Health Care Center. She was born March 16, 1929 in Albany, KY to the late Arthur and Minnie (Catron) York.

Maxine was very family oriented. She loved family gatherings where she could cook for them and they would play music and sing together. She enjoyed country western music, bluegrass music and playing the piano.

She is survived by a daughter, Regina “Jeannie” Harlow of Ft. Myers, Florida and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Harlow; brother, Lee York; sisters, Helen Blevins, Eudoxie Bertram, Loudeal Hurst and Hazel Dean.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. At Maxine’s request, her casket will be closed. Graveside services will immediately follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. You may express condolences or share a memory of Maxine at www.hinsey-brown.com .
