William "David" Thurston

William “David” Thurston, 66 of New Castle, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017. He was born March 25, 1950 in New Castle to the late Hulon and Marjorie (Whitley) Thurston.

He worked for Dana Corporation for 20 years and retired from Outokumpu following 22 years of service. He was a hard worker and provided for his family. David was a very loving and giving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always put others first and was loved by all who knew him. Maui was one of David’s favorite places, and he and Priscilla were privileged to visit there several times.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Priscilla (Miller) Thurston of New Castle; four children, Elizabeth (Duane) Bentley, of Arlington, Matthew Thurston, of New Castle, Sarah (Randy) Madison of Springport and Stephen Thurston of New Castle; eleven grandchildren, Dakota, Rheanna, Xania, Brent, Alan, Jada, Trevor, Maci, Olivia, Chloe, and Willow; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Donica; brother, Gary Thurston.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Kirk and Dave Bellis officiating.
