William R. Morgan, 94, of New Castle passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 24, 1923 in Wayne County, KY to the late Frazier and Maude Morgan.
He retired in 1984 from Delco Remy after more than 39 years of service. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was an avid bowler and belonged to many bowling leagues.
He is survived by five children, Connie (Harry) Whitehead, Donald Ray Morgan, Jeffrey Allen Morgan, Joe Morgan, Tracy (Kim) Morgan, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one sister, “Boots” Gorman and one brother, Jepp Morgan and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Opal Morgan, daughter, Sherrill Pardue, son, David Randall Morgan and infant son, Roger Dale Morgan.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition with military honors conducted by contingence from the U.S. Army and American Legion.
