Winifred L. Gray

Winifred Gray, 93, passed peacefully at her home in Cadiz at 6:30 pm Saturday, August 5th 2017 surrounded by her husband and family. Winifred was born July 27th, 1924 in Hamilton County, to the late James H. and Lorena (Decker) Salsbery.

Winifred was a farmer’s wife and a faithful Christian. She was a member of the Cadiz Christian Church. She attended Sharpsville High School. Winifred enjoyed time with her family, playing cards, bowling, cooking, taking walks and riding her bike. She and Arthur traveled to Lakeland, Florida to spend the winter for 17 years. She was a lifetime member of Weight Watchers.

Mrs. Gray is survived by her husband of 75 years, Arthur Gray; sons, Wayne and his wife, Sherry Gray, Dale (Jodi) Gray all of Indianapolis, David and Theresa Gray of Cadiz. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Margaret, Jennifer, Patty, Kristin, Ashley, Matt and Kevin as well as 12 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Donald and Gene Salsbery, sisters, Edith Grimes, Minnie Inman, and Laura Belle Dwiggins and grandson, Jerry Gray.

Visitation is from 11am to 1pm Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S Memorial Dr., New Castle IN 47362. Services will begin at 1pm with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating.
