Alene Bradshaw

Alene Bradshaw, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 24, 2022.

The daughter of Henry and Nola Cecile Williams Bradshaw, she was born in Russell County, Kentucky on January 7, 1940. Alene graduated from Russell Springs High School in 1958 and went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University.

For over 60 years, Alene made Indianapolis her home. She briefly worked at Western Electric and then became an executive secretary at Eli Lilly, where she retired from after more than 30 years of service.

Whip smart, Alene was an avid reader and routinely enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and jumbles with her sister, Lois. In retirement, she also took a keen interest in her family’s genealogy.

A talented cook, her carrot cake, lasagna, butterscotch pie and potato rolls were among the family favorites she made over the years for holidays and special occasions. Most of all, Alene’s loved ones will remember her as the most generous and kind soul – with the best sense of humor and infectious laugh.

In addition to her parents, Alene was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Bradshaw. She is survived by her sisters, Arlene Patrick (Norman) and Lois Bradshaw; niece, Rebecca Patrick; nephews, Michael Patrick (Becca) and Brian Bradshaw; great nephews, Andrew Patrick and Kaleb Nunley; and sister-in-law, Sharon Bradshaw.
