Alice Marie Roach, 80, of New Castle passed away Monday, December 18, 2017. She was born May 28, 1937 in New Castle to the late Bolin Keith and Rachel (Lawson) Cross.
Alice’s family meant more to her than anything. You could always see that big smile whenever her family was together. This lady was one of the sweetest you could ever meet. She always put others before herself, made sure others had what they needed, and accepted everyone for who they were. Alice retired from the State Hospital following 37 years of service and started her career as a beautician at Clarabelle’s. Alice loved the sun! She and Jack had a lake home for 17 years at Lake Cumberland and they also wintered in Florida for a number of years. Two perfect places for someone in love with the sun. She was also a God fearing lady who attended the 14th Street Church of Christ and First Baptist Church in New Castle.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jack Roach of New Castle; her children, who she has had a big reflection on, Dana (Howard) Kendall of Indianapolis and Tony (Debbie) Roach of Springport; her adored grandsons, Quincy Kendall, Jacob Kendall and Orie Roach; great-grandchildren, who made her eyes light up, Jackson, Addison and Riley; sister, Wilma (Jim) Garrard of New Castle; step-mother, Leora Keith of New Castle; many special friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Pastor Jerry Ingalls officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church, 709 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN 47362.
